From Video Coaching to IceTime
The story of IceTime started in 2006, when Patrik was working as a video analyst with coach Július Šupler and the Slovak national ice hockey team staff.
At the time, video analysis involved DVDs, manual tagging and time-consuming workflows. Working directly in this environment gave Patrik a clear view of what coaches actually needed – and where technology could make their work faster and more effective.
He began developing a tool that allowed events to be recorded during a game and later synchronized with video. What started as a practical solution to a real coaching problem became the technological foundation of IceTime.
Building the IceTime Technology
As CTO & Founder, Patrik leads the technological development of IceTime and shapes the product roadmap behind its sports video analysis ecosystem.
His work combines decades of software development with practical experience from professional hockey, turning real feedback from coaches and video analysts into technology designed for game-day workflows.
Today, IceTime connects live tagging, video capture, post-game analysis, presentations, instant bench feedback and cloud-based workflows in one ecosystem.
Professional Hockey from the Inside
Patrik does not develop sports technology only from behind a computer.
He continues to work actively as a video coach with the Slovak U20 national team, bringing first-hand experience from international ice hockey directly into the development of IceTime.
As a licensed ice hockey coach, Patrik understands the game not only from a technical perspective, but also from the point of view of coaches and players.
This combination of software development and daily work inside professional hockey has shaped IceTime from its earliest versions to the platform used today.
Beyond Technology & Hockey
Technology and ice hockey are important parts of Patrik’s life, but staying active goes well beyond the rink.
Outside work, Patrik enjoys running and climbing, spending time outdoors and taking on new challenges. He is also a motorcycle enthusiast.
The same curiosity, persistence and practical mindset that define his work with technology are also reflected in the activities he enjoys away from the screen.
